Kathryn Cmor

Mrs. Cmor, 87, Glasgow, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Golden Living Center-Hillview, Altoona..

She was born November 19, 1926 in Mt. Union, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Catherine (Furman) Kowalczyk. She married Emil V. Czmor (Bishop Basil). He died March 26, 1976 Surviving is a son Philip Cmor with whom she lived and a stepson Garrett E. Czmor of Mill Creek. Also surviving are 2 step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers Michael, Nicholas and Stephen and 6 sisters Ann Kowalsky, Helen Kowlasky, Stella McClure, Felicia Loop and infants Mary, Catherine and Mary.

Kathryn was a 1945 graduate of Mt. Union High School and had been a utility worker at Greif Textile Industries, Mt. Union and then as a housekeeper at Minuette Manor, Bellwood and Berry’s Nursing Home, Utahville. She was a member of St. Michael of the Archangel Orthodox Church, Irvona and Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Mt. Union.

Family and friends will be received at Kathryn’s residence from 2:00 pm Sunday, through Panichida at 7:00 pm Monday and to the funeral services at 11:00 am Tuesday in St. Philip's Sanctuary. Funeral services will be officiated by Igumen (Fr.) David Lewis. Interment in Holy Resurrection Cemetery, Glasgow.

Phil suggests that his “mum” would appreciate that in lieu of flowers, please make any memorial donations to any local animal shelter, homeless shelter, place of worship, food pantry or a clothing/money donation to organizations such as Goodwill.
