Josephine Apple

     Mrs. Apple, 93, a resident of Epworth Personal Care, Tyrone and formerly of Hollentown, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the home.  Born June 24, 1921 in Glasgow a daughter of the late Joseph and Kathryn (Babicz) Fiedor.  On April 5, 1947 in Irvona she married Bob A. Apple who survives along with three daughters Cathy E. (John) Dobish of Strasburg, Nancy A. Rieg of Julian and Debbie A. (John) Simpson of Altoona, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a sister Verna Chilcote of Dillsburg and a sister-in-law Mary Pearl Fiedor of Penfield.  Also preceded in death by an infant grandson Rieg and an infant grandson John Robert Simpson, two sisters Mary Kuhn and Anna Shope and four brothers Frank, John, Walter and Andrew.

     She was a 1940 graduate of Reade Twp. High School and was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Glasgow.  During WWII she was employed by P.R.R.-Altoona.

     Friends will be received 10 am until the noon services Saturday at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.  Rev. Mary Emery will officiate and burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.  Please make any memorial contributions to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Glasgow, PA.  16644.
