Bud L. Shomo

Mr. Shomo, 82, Van Ormer, died Friday September 14, 2018 at UPMC-Altoona. He was born February 6, 1936, in Van Ormer, a son of the late Clair E. and Bernice A. (Tonkin) Shomo. He was twice married first on June 27, 1953, in Glasgow, to Betty L. Wagner who died August 16, 1997. He then married Nancy L. (Rafferty) Dotts in Mountaindale on August 29, 2008. Nancy survives along with four children Nancy J. (Bob) Roessing, Richard A. (Kim) Shomo, and James E. (Melissa) Shomo all of Van Ormer, and Thomas M. (Penny) Shomo of Glasgow, four stepchildren Tawny D. (Ken) Smith and Ronald H. (Michelle) Dotts both of Glen Hope, Frank J. (Shirley) Dotts, Jr. of Clearfield and Kandi S. (Kevin) Phillips of Houtzdale, seven grandchildren Amanda Hamilton, Abbey, Todd, Ben, Brock and Shane Shomo and Rebecca Cusick and six great-grandchildren Levi, Tessa and Emma Hamilton, Callie and Brody Cusick and Bryer Shomo. Also surviving are five sisters Mildred R. Hamilton of Fallentimber, Jean L. Lucas of Irvona, Shirley F. Carrazzone of Yorktowne Heights, NY., Connie A. Kruise of Coalport, and Eleanor V. McClellan of Dillsburg. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter and two brothers Donald and Dwayne.

Bud retired as a heavy equipment mechanic for numerous area coal companies.

Friends will be received 5-8 pm Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Deak Irvine officiating. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
