Willis D. Maruna

Mr. Maruna, 73, Flinton, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at his residence. He was born February 3, 1945, in Flinton, a son of the late Willis P. and Marcadis M. (Conway) Maruna. On October 19, 1968, in Coalport, he married Janet G. Clarkson who died January 24, 2015. Surviving are four children: Stacy G. (Scott) Davis of Dysart, Willis D. (Cheryl) Maruna of Flinton, Kelly J. Maruna and her companion Bill Bickel of Tyrone and Chad D. (Sarah) Maruna of W. Palm Beach, FL., nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren with one on the way, and two sisters Beverly Mihalow of Patton and Katherine Eagler of Coalport.

Willis served as a Specialist 4th Class in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as a heavy equipment operator for the former Benjamin Coal Company and was a life member of the Richard L. Beers VFW #7043 Coalport and a member of the Coalport Moose Lodge #350.

Friends will be received Monday August 27, 2018 at the McQuown Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until the memorial service at 3:00 pm with Pastor Jon Hommer officiating. Interment in Lyleville Cemetery. The Richard L. Beers Post #7043 will conduct military honors at the funeral home.
